Welcome to my world of whimsy and delight! Feel free to leave your grownup shoes at the door.

 

I am a mommy of two,a wifey of one, an artist of the whimsical, and a lover of lemon poppy-seed cookies.  I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design where I earned my Master's in Illustration Design. I have shown in galleries along the East Coast such as ZaPow, Wicked Gallery, and Woolworth's, to name a few.  I hail from a small coastal town in North Carolina. I once called Wilmington, NC, Savannah, GA, Asheville, NC and colorful Colorado home, but have most recently found myself as a resident of the sunny Spacecoast of Florida! I feel that I am part nomadic gypsy, and that's just fine by me.

 

I work mostly in acrylic, usually throwing in various other medium such as pastels and inks or whatever I can get my paint splattered hands on.  Watercolor and ink have also been long time friends that like to pop over for afternoon tea every now and again.

 

Lately I  have been fancying the look of  smooth graphite and acrylic washes against wood grain, and the dance of watercolor on Yupo paper. I constantly like to experiment and learn, in case you haven't noticed, I have Art ADD. And I love The Cure.

 

I find inspiration from and hold great admiration for artists over the space of time  such as Modigliani, Dali, Margaret Keane, Ana Mendieta, Tony Diterlizzi, and Audrey Kawasaki to name a few, as well as drawing inspiration from nature, fairytales and the cobwebby corners of my own imagination. 

 

And I keep a very untidy studio.  It's just more fun that way.
